Description

A quick and easy 3-ingredient orange chicken recipe with a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for a fast meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (e.g., Sweet Baby Rayโ€™s)
  • 1 cup sweet orange marmalade (e.g., Smuckerโ€™s)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3โ€“4 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup flour or cornstarch (or a mix of both)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Combine BBQ sauce, orange marmalade, and soy sauce in a medium pot. Heat on low for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Prep the Chicken Coating: Place beaten eggs in one bowl and flour or cornstarch in another.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken cube in egg, then roll in the flour mix to coat.
  4. Fry the Chicken: Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 3โ€“5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Allow chicken to cool slightly, then toss in warm sauce until coated.
  6. Serve: Serve the chicken over white rice, optionally adding cooked green peppers or broccoli on the side.

Notes

Use cornstarch for a crisp coating. Fry in batches to maintain oil temperature. Let sauce simmer to thicken.
