Description

A hearty dish made with large pasta shells stuffed with a savory beef and cheese mixture, topped with marinara sauce and baked until bubbly.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Stuff each cooked shell with the beef and cheese mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  6. Pour marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Do not overcook the shells. They must be firm to hold the filling. Fresh Parmesan is recommended for the best taste.
