- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Stuff each cooked shell with the beef and cheese mixture and place them in a baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Do not overcook the shells. They must be firm to hold the filling. Fresh Parmesan is recommended for the best taste.
