Description

Deliciously soft and rich banana brownies made with ripe bananas and cocoa, perfect for a quick sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until just incorporated.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For serving, cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or dust with powdered sugar for extra flavor.
