- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter.
- Stir in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until just incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For serving, cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or dust with powdered sugar for extra flavor.
