Description

A family-friendly dish featuring jumbo pasta shells stuffed with a savory ground beef and ricotta mixture, baked in marinara sauce for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz Jumbo Pasta Shells
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 small Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded, reserved for topping)
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan Cheese (Grated)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Basil
  • 0.5 tsp Oregano
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper (To taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Boil the jumbo shells in salted water until al dente. Drain and cool.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Cook chopped onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  4. Add ground beef. Cook until brown. Drain fat. Season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta, half the mozzarella, parmesan, egg, and parsley. Season to taste.
  6. Stir cooked beef into the cheese mix.
  7. Spread a thin layer of marinara on the bottom of a baking dish.
  8. Stuff each shell with the beef and ricotta mix and place in the dish.
  9. Spoon more marinara over the shells and top with remaining mozzarella.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 5โ€“10 minutes more until cheese browns.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not overcook the shells; they will finish cooking in the oven. Use full-fat ricotta for a creamier filling.
