- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter.
- Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs for a smooth mix. Do not over mix after adding flour. Check the oven at 25 minutes to avoid over baking.
