Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • Frosting of choice (e.g., buttercream, cream cheese, chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared pans.
