Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup miso paste
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until browned and nutty; let cool slightly.
  3. Mix the browned butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and miso paste in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla; mix until well combined.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Add the dry mix to the wet mix gradually, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are set.
  10. Cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
