Description

A soft and sweet caramel cake with a mild caramel taste, perfect for small gatherings or as a delightful treat at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Mix until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool and then drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

For a variation, layer with cream cheese or salted caramel, or add apple bits for a fruit note. Serve warm with ice cream for an extra treat.
