Description

A simple and sweet recipe for delightful chocolate-covered strawberries, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 to 20 fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or bar, chopped
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon light oil (to smooth chocolate)
  • Small paper cups or tray

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries and dry them well with a towel.
  2. Line a tray with paper or foil.
  3. In a bowl, melt dark chocolate in short bursts in the microwave or over hot water, stirring until smooth. Add the oil to make it shine.
  4. Hold each berry by the leaf end and dip into the dark chocolate, letting the extra drip off.
  5. Place the dipped berry on the tray. If using white chocolate, melt it now and drizzle or dot it over the dark chocolate coat.
  6. Let the berries set in a cool place or put them in the fridge for 10โ€“15 minutes.
  7. Move the set berries into small cups or a box for gifting.

Notes

For best results, dry the fruit thoroughly before dipping, and store the berries in a single layer in the fridge, using wax paper between layers.
