Description

These brownies mix rich chocolate and fresh strawberries, creating a delightful treat that is perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or melting chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs. Allow to cool completely.
  7. Once the brownies are cool, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or over a double boiler.
  8. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the brownies, then arrange the halved strawberries on top.
  9. Allow the chocolate to set before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a crunch, add chopped nuts to the batter. Use ripe but firm strawberries for best results.
