- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup chocolate chips or melting chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs. Allow to cool completely.
- Once the brownies are cool, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or over a double boiler.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the brownies, then arrange the halved strawberries on top.
- Allow the chocolate to set before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a crunch, add chopped nuts to the batter. Use ripe but firm strawberries for best results.
