Description

A delicious, easy-to-make frozen treat that resembles the classic Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake, featuring layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, fudge, and cookie crumbles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup (100g) Oreo crumbs (about 9 Oreos)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1.5 quart container vanilla ice cream
  • 1.5 quart container chocolate ice cream
  • 6 oz | 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups (480ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 cup (115g) powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Spread evenly onto the prepared cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool and break up any large clumps.
  3. Line an 8ร—3 inch cake pan with clear wrap.
  4. Set the chocolate ice cream out to soften for 20 minutes. Once softened, spread into the prepared cake pan and freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. To make the fudge layer, heat the heavy whipping cream until boiling, pour over chocolate chips with corn syrup and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Pour fudge over chilled chocolate ice cream layer and freeze for about 10 minutes.
  7. Add cookie crumbles on top and freeze for 2 hours.
  8. Set vanilla ice cream out to soften for 20 minutes, then add on top of the cake and freeze until firm, 2-3 hours.
  9. Lift the cake out of the pan using the wrap and place on a serving plate.
  10. Whip together heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form, then frost the cake.
  11. Freeze the cake until ready to serve.

Notes

Cut the cake with a warm knife for clean slices. Let it sit for 3-5 minutes at room temperature before cutting. Store well-wrapped in the freezer for up to 5 days.
