- 1/4 cup buttermilk (or milk mixed with lemon juice/vinegar)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring (pink and blue)
- Cotton candy flavoring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts. Color one part with pink gel food coloring and the other with blue.
- Take small pieces of each color and roll them together to create a marbled effect. Shape into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to turn golden.
- Remove from the oven, let them cool on a wire rack, and then serve!
