Description

Delightful cookies that bring the fun and nostalgia of cotton candy right into your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (or milk mixed with lemon juice/vinegar)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (pink and blue)
  • Cotton candy flavoring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Color one part with pink gel food coloring and the other with blue.
  7. Take small pieces of each color and roll them together to create a marbled effect. Shape into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to turn golden.
  9. Remove from the oven, let them cool on a wire rack, and then serve!
