- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ยฝ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sautรฉ until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and sliced smoked sausage. Cook until sausage is browned, about 5-6 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated.
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of milk or broth to loosen the sauce if needed.
