Description

Rich and fudgy brownies made with real chocolate and classic ingredients, perfect for any chocolate lover.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick)
  • 2 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate bars, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light or dark brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the melted mixture into a large mixing bowl and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF and line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
  4. Whisk in granulated and brown sugar into the cooled chocolate mixture.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, whisking until smooth after each addition.
  6. Whisk in vanilla extract, then slowly incorporate flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  7. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  9. Bake for 34-36 minutes until the top is crackly and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool on a wire rack for about 1 hour before cutting and serving.

Notes

For a crunch, add chopped nuts or white chocolate chips for a flavor contrast.
