- 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick)
- 2 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate bars, chopped
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light or dark brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the melted mixture into a large mixing bowl and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF and line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Whisk in granulated and brown sugar into the cooled chocolate mixture.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking until smooth after each addition.
- Whisk in vanilla extract, then slowly incorporate flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 34-36 minutes until the top is crackly and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool on a wire rack for about 1 hour before cutting and serving.
Notes
For a crunch, add chopped nuts or white chocolate chips for a flavor contrast.
