Description

A quick and delightful dessert featuring strawberries dipped in chocolate, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, dry and firm
  • 8 ounces dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 2 ounces white chocolate (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon oil or butter (to smooth the chocolate)
  • Wax paper or a tray

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries and pat them dry with a towel. Let them stand to ensure no water remains.
  2. Put chocolate chips and oil in a small bowl.
  3. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring in between. Alternatively, melt over a pan of hot water.
  4. Hold a strawberry by the stem and dip it into the chocolate, twisting to cover half or all of it.
  5. Set the berry on wax paper and repeat with all strawberries.
  6. If using white chocolate, melt it similarly and drizzle it over the dipped strawberries.
  7. Let the chocolate-covered strawberries sit at room temperature until firm, avoiding refrigeration immediately.

Notes

Serve strawberries on a pretty plate with flowers or mint leaves. Best enjoyed fresh, they can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge.
