- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in melted butter and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing well.
- Fold in flour and baking powder until just combined, then stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool before cutting into squares and serve.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas. Avoid overmixing once flour is added. Check for doneness at 20 minutes.
