  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Cook pasta until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly add milk and cream, whisking until smooth.
  5. Stir in cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan until melted. Add mustard powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Fold pasta into sauce and transfer to baking dish.
  7. Mix panko with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly over the pasta.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  9. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
