- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture until well combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding nuts or a tablespoon of espresso powder for a mocha twist.
