A hearty dish blending jumbo pasta shells filled with a savory beef and cheese mixture, topped with marinara sauce and more cheese, then baked to perfection.

- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each cooked shell with the beef mixture.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the stuffed shells on top of the sauce and pour the remaining sauce over them.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Do not overcook shells. Drain beef well to avoid a wet filling. For best texture, use low-moisture mozzarella. Let the bake sit for 5 minutes before serving for easier cutting.
