Description
Soft and sweet red velvet cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting, perfect for brunch or a special occasion.

- 3ยฝ cups all-purpose flour
- ยผ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2ยผ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ยฝ tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- ยผ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ยฝ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ยพ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ยฝ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ยฝ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–4 tbsp milk (to adjust consistency)
Instructions
- In a big bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt.
- In a small bowl, stir warm milk, melted butter, egg, red food color, and vanilla.
- Add wet mix to dry mix. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough on a floured board. Knead until smooth, about 5โ7 minutes.
- Put dough in a bowl. Cover and let it rise until it doubles, about 1 hour.
- Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until thick to make the filling.
- Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured board and spread the filling over the dough.
- Roll dough tight from the long side to the short side and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased pan.
- Let the rolls rest for 20 minutes to puff. Heat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and bake for 20โ25 minutes until the tops look light brown.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until soft. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well and adjust consistency with milk.
- Spread the frosting over warm rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
Use warm milk, not hot. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for 3โ4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
