Description

Easy and fast chocolate lava cakes with warm, soft centers that melt in your mouth.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC). Grease ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together until smooth.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks, mixing until well blended.
  5. Fold in the flour until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
  8. Let them rest for 1 minute before inverting onto plates. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries. Store in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for 1 month.
