Description

Chewy, nutty, and perfectly sweet, these maple pecan cookies combine buttery toasted pecans with pure maple syrup for an irresistible treat perfect for any season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup (Grade A Amber or Dark)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups toasted pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Beat in the maple syrup and egg until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Stir in the toasted pecans.
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to prevent excessive spreading.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra indulgence, add ¾ cup chocolate chips to the dough.
  • Drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and maple syrup once cooled for more maple flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
