Description
A homemade version of Panda Express Orange Chicken that features sweet and tangy flavors, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients

- 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken pieces in the mixture until well coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and orange zest. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Toss the fried chicken in the orange glaze until well coated.
- Serve garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
Dry the chicken well before coating and use fresh orange zest for the best flavor. Optionally bake at 425ยฐF for a lower oil preparation.
