  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk or yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ tsp ground cinnamon, sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Peaches: Wash, peel, and slice peaches. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and set aside.
  3. Make Batter: Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  5. Mix Wet & Dry: Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with milk. Mix until combined.
  6. Assemble Cake: Pour batter into pan. Arrange peach slices on top in a circular pattern.
  7. Bake: 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool & Serve: Let cool before slicing. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
