- 2 sheets Puff pastry
- 3/4 cup Nutella
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Let the puff pastry thaw for about 2 hours.
- Unfold one sheet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread Nutella evenly over the first sheet.
- Lay the second sheet on top of the Nutella.
- Cut the shape of a Christmas tree from the layered pastry.
- Cut 1-inch strips along the sides of the tree shape and twist each strip to create branches.
- Use the scraps to cut out stars for decoration.
- Brush the tree with an egg wash to give it a nice golden color.
- Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Optionally, sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use chilled puff pastry for better results. Don’t overfill with Nutella to avoid spilling during baking. Consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt for richer flavor.
