Description

A fun and festive treat perfect for holiday gatherings, combining flaky pastry with creamy Nutella for a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets Puff pastry
  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Let the puff pastry thaw for about 2 hours.
  3. Unfold one sheet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Spread Nutella evenly over the first sheet.
  5. Lay the second sheet on top of the Nutella.
  6. Cut the shape of a Christmas tree from the layered pastry.
  7. Cut 1-inch strips along the sides of the tree shape and twist each strip to create branches.
  8. Use the scraps to cut out stars for decoration.
  9. Brush the tree with an egg wash to give it a nice golden color.
  10. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Optionally, sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use chilled puff pastry for better results. Don’t overfill with Nutella to avoid spilling during baking. Consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt for richer flavor.
