Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl.
- Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then let cool.
- Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy for the frosting.
- Frost each cookie with cream cheese frosting once they are completely cool.
