- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream, 1/2 cup Parmesan, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Place one slice of mozzarella on each chicken breast.
- Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over each breast and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top.
- Bake for about 60 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is golden.
- Let the dish stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken in spices or lemon juice before cooking. Consider adding red pepper flakes for heat, or extra veggies like mushrooms or spinach to the sauce.
