- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Food coloring (black, orange)
- Decorative Halloween toppers (ghosts, pumpkins, spiders)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by lining them with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter equally into two bowls. Add black food coloring to one bowl and orange food coloring to the other.
- Pour the batters alternately into the prepared pans, creating a swirl effect.
- Bake the cakes for about 30 minutes. Check with a toothpick to make sure they are done.
- Let the cakes cool completely before frosting and decorating with Halloween toppers.
Notes
For an even more vibrant color, add a few more drops of food coloring. Get creative with decorations using a variety of Halloween-themed toppers.
