Description

A delicious cake that combines chocolate and fresh strawberries with a rich cream cheese layer, perfect for parties or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9ร—13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until combined.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Swirl the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter.
  6. Add sliced strawberries and dollops of strawberry jam on top or mix them into the cream cheese layer.
  7. Pour the remaining cake batter over the top.
  8. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool, and serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Let the cream cheese soften for easy mixing. Ripe strawberries enhance the flavor. Chill the cake for neater slices.
