Description

Crispy air fryer apple fries are a healthier twist on a classic snack, perfect for dessert or an afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prep the apples: Peel if desired, cut into fry-like sticks, and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up coating stations: In Bowl 1, add flour; in Bowl 2, whisk egg and milk; in Bowl 3, mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Coat the apple sticks in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat well with breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Air fry: Spray coated apple fries lightly with cooking spray and place in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
  5. Cook at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce like caramel, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

For a crispier texture, ensure apple sticks are dry before coating. Try different fruits like pears or peaches for variations.
