Description

A simple yet rich chocolate cake that brings happiness to any occasion, perfect for celebrations or sweet cravings.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin).
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and don’t skip the boiling water to enhance the cake’s richness.
