Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup milk, warmed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in the softened butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Filling: Mix the cocoa powder, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Roll out the dough and spread this filling evenly.
  6. Add the chocolate chips over the filling before rolling it up tightly.
  7. Shape Rolls: Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
  8. Second Rise: Cover the dish and let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Serve Warm: Once baked, let them cool slightly before serving.
