- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch kosher salt
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)
- Extra cinnamon or nutmeg (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9-inch pie dish or pan. Optionally, dust with flour.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Layer evenly in the bottom of the pie dish.
- Whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and slightly frothy.
- Stir in Bisquick, milk, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until just combined.
- Pour custard batter over apples in the pie dish, distributing evenly.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar and a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg over the top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until the top is golden and center is set.
- Let pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use firm apples and let eggs come to room temperature for a smoother custard.
