Description

Delicious flaky cruffins that combine the flavors of croissants and cinnamon rolls, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 6 tablespoons butter (softened, divided into 3 – 2-tablespoon portions)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon-sugar mixture)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for cinnamon-sugar mixture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Roll out each crescent dough sheet on a lightly floured surface into a 12 x 16-inch rectangle.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter evenly over each sheet of dough.
  4. Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Sprinkle ¼ cup of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over each buttered dough sheet and gently press it into the dough.
  6. Starting at the longer end, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  7. Cut each log in half, then slice each into two halves lengthwise.
  8. Roll each section tightly into a spiral with the layers facing outward.
  9. Place the rolled dough into the prepared muffin tin.
  10. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and immediately roll each cruffin in the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
