Description

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Caramel: Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in cream and cook until slightly thickened. Stir in flaky salt and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl. Beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla.
  3. Combine and Swirl: Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until dough forms. Gently fold caramel into dough, creating ribbons.
  4. Bake: Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 12–14 minutes. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.
