Description

A simple and delightful recipe for homemade candies that brings joy to any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it cook without stirring for about 10-15 minutes, or until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the vanilla extract and food coloring, if using. Stir gently until well combined.
  5. Pour the hot mixture onto a greased baking sheet and let it cool for a few minutes.
  6. Once it’s cool enough to handle, use greased scissors to cut it into fun shapes or break it into pieces.
  7. Allow the candies to cool completely before enjoying!

Notes

Always use a candy thermometer for the best results. Experiment with different flavors and be cautious while handling hot sugar.
