Description

A delightful cake combining fluffy layers with whipped cream and strawberry jam, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • Fresh strawberries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, slice the cake in half horizontally. Spread strawberry jam on the bottom layer, then add whipped cream.
  8. Place the top layer back on and cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
  9. Decorate with fresh strawberries.
  10. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Ensure butter is at room temperature for a smoother batter. Beat whipped cream until it forms soft peaks.
