- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- Fresh strawberries for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice the cake in half horizontally. Spread strawberry jam on the bottom layer, then add whipped cream.
- Place the top layer back on and cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
- Decorate with fresh strawberries.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure butter is at room temperature for a smoother batter. Beat whipped cream until it forms soft peaks.
